Your PC can Contribute with Google Compute

Have you heard about the SETI project? SETI, the search for extraterrestrial intelligence, and the project is managed by the University of California, Berkeley. SETI monitors processes and radio signals from space, looking for possible signs of intelligent extraterrestrial life. SETI uses proprietary software to distribute computer processing power among all computers connected to participate in SETI project so that radio signals can be processed more quickly and efficiently. SETI actually creates a large supercomputer thousands of computers connected through its network. Now users of Google tools will be able to contribute to scientific research in the same way, through Google Compute. Google, with the Folding @ home for their first project. This research is non-profit based at Stanford University. They use participants combine computing power to analyze the genetic structure of proteins for medical research. Once installed the Google Toolbar, Google Compute can easily be disabled at any time. During the race, the race otherwise idle time to process the computer work to be assigned automatically from a Folding @ home, then transmit the results to Folding @ home once completed. Users have a lot of information and control options Google Compute. An icon in the system tray (a double helix) indicates that Google Compute is running, and when light, the same icon that shows the change of work is done. There are two modes available, to avoid conflicts with other programs you use. Google requires Windows Compute, IE5 or higher, 64 MB RAM minimum, and the English version of the Google Toolbar. A high-speed Internet connection is not necessary, but must generally connect to the Internet for a few days and be ready to face a delay while data is loaded. The data will be transmitted using the HTTP port, so that it will work in most semi-transparent firewall. About 20 megabytes of data per month is transferred to the Folding @ home project.
